I applied online. The process took 6 weeks. I interviewed at Curious Minds Media (Brisbane) in Jan 2024
Interview
I interviewed for this role as a permanent employee, before being asked to wait a month for a verdict. At that verdict, I was offered a one month trial to assess fit which I accepted on the condition of giving my current employers 2 weeks notice which was also accepted. The company was unable to give me a contract until the day before I was to begin, which adjusted the terms to a two week contract with an assessment after the first week, offered extension of the contract with no permanency, classed me as a contractor requiring my own insurance and super, and lowered the equivalent pay from the advertised $50-60,000 to $45,000. I proposed a probation period on an ordinary permanent role or an adjusted casual rate to account for the additional costs and insurances involved with a contractor, both of which were turned down. I believe this to be immensely deceptive and damaging as I am now unemployed while this company will just look for another applicant to exploit.
