Smooth and very very Serene. Nice people when it comes to hu.msnity. I enjoyed being interviewed and it did not feel like I was in a meeting.
Hopefully I will get Hired.
Interview questions [1]
Question 1
Tell me about yourself and why do you want to work here
I applied online. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at DOOR3 (New York, NY)
Interview
There was an initial phone screen followed by a take-home assessment that took me 3 days to complete. The internal recruiter told me she'd be in touch in about a week. I called 10 days after submitting my assessment wondering about my status and I get rudely brushed off. Then, I call ~11 days after that call only to be given a generic rejection about my code and an excuse about it being the holidays. No feedback or respect for a candidate's time. I even sent an email the day before the call to just inquire about my status and no response.
It should not take them days to send a rejection that would take all about 10 seconds, nor should anyone be bothered by a candidate calling once a week to inquire about their status. I don't think they were ever planning to hire me. It's also strange that most of their job postings aren't listed on jobsites like LinkedIn or Indeed. It's almost like the job postings are just there for show and they'll just look for an excuse to say no to anyone. The job posting itself shows their ignorance, carelessness, and it's also quite cringey. They say they are looking for "inexperienced hackers" and people that can "already make stuff happen with a computer." Stay away from this company if you can.
I applied through an employee referral. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at DOOR3 (New York, NY)
Interview
Contacted by the hiring manager, via email. We set up a phone call, then I was asked to come in for an in-person interview, but I got the sense I'd gotten the gig by then.
We discussed the rate on the phone, which was a little low. We did not discuss that the gig would be 1099 or W-2 (make sure you ask). We did not discuss their contract terms and how it would be determined when the project is over. Since it was a freelance gig based on a specific project, the compensation should have been for a full project not for an hourly rate.
We did not discuss my terms as a freelancer, payment schedule, or any other topics that would normally come up for freelancers and client.
