      Interview

Got a recruiter message through LinkedIn, scheduled a first meeting that felt it was just one of a requiered number of interviews they have to do to hit some KPI because the interviewer didn't looked engaged nor comfortable with the conversation. I wasn't able to connect to a second interview for an English Check, so I contacted the recruiter throught LinkedIn and they never answered back.

      Interview

The interview process included 4 steps: English check, HR interview, Test Task, and Technical Interview. All interviewers were friendly and smiling, they tried to create an open-minded and trustworthy atmosphere, I felt confident at each step. Nothing specific to mention about the HR step, general information about the company, its benefits, and answers to the candidate's questions. The Technical step included a lot of theoretical questions that were based on one well-known BA book, though the interviewer added a couple of questions specific to my experience. Honestly, I expected a bit more practical, situation-based questions or cases for this position rather than a plain theory check. A couple of things that upset me a bit: 1. It was required to complete a test task, which I did, though I received zero feedback about it and it was not in any way referenced later. So I conclude that it is just a formality. 2. At the beginning of the process I was informed that the company is hiring to "bench", which is fine. After passing the technical interview, I haven't received any feedback and pinged HR a couple of times, however, there was no definite "yes" or "no" to my candidacy. This situation led me to think that "bench" was a bit shady proposal from the beginning. I believe that an honest "no, but we may reach out to you later in case there is a suitable project" would be much better and more transparent than a loose end. Please consider this review for the interview process improvements.

Thank you for going through our selection process and for taking the time to share your detailed and constructive feedback — we genuinely appreciate your interest in DataArt. We’re glad to hear that you felt confident at each stage and found our interviewers open, friendly, and respectful. Creating a trustworthy and welcoming atmosphere is something we take seriously, so it’s great to know that came through. We also appreciate your comments about the technical interview and test task. While our approach includes some standard theory-based questions to ensure consistency, we absolutely understand the importance of assessing practical, situation-based thinking — especially for senior-level roles. Your input will help us continue refining this balance. We regret that the test task wasn’t referenced later in the process — that’s something we are reviewing internally. We aim for all assignments to be meaningful and part of a transparent evaluation process, and your feedback is a helpful reminder. Regarding the "bench" hiring process, we understand that the lack of timely and clear follow-up left you with uncertainty, which is not the experience we want candidates to have. While bench roles can offer flexibility and early engagement ahead of project assignments, your point about communication and closure is absolutely valid. We’re actively working to improve clarity at every step — especially in cases where final decisions take time. Thank you again for helping us grow with your honest and thoughtful feedback. We wish you all the best in your future endeavors.
