Interview
The usual initial call with internal talent acquisition - > call with hiring manager -> samples & tests -> call with manager's manager -> more testing -> call with peer level team member -> call with CFO trajectory to offer. Never met anyone live and was never asked for references. Would have been within 6 weeks total to start date, except the hiring manager took a 2 week vacation without an internal handoff or mention to me.
If I hadn't manned up and checked in I probably would have been forgotten. We subsequently lost a highly desirable candidate the same way, with the same person, so maybe it's a passive-aggressive way of saying no. He turned out to be a crappy manager in every regard.
