My interview consisted of four interviews of twenty minutes with two associates and two partners at the firm. It was conducted virtually either over Zoom or Flo Recruit and was seamless.
I applied online. I interviewed at Debevoise & Plimpton (London, England)
Interview
Relatively old school process akin to Slaughters. Held in the same academic league on the spectrum of law interviews. Huge emphasis on numerous written application questions - they take a lot of time but it's used as an initial filter, so do apply yourself to it.
- Emphasis on accuracy, precision and depth/substance of content in the articles interview held at the offices with Associate and Partner or Counsel
- This element is repeated in the actual Vac Scheme as well.
Interview questions [1]
Question 1
Article interview from the FT in the recent past relative to interview date. Don't try and find the article - it can be an archived one as well. Just be smart and on your toes. Given time ahead of the interview to read through the article and make notes. They are all very friendly people, so don't beat yourself up!

Interview
The interview process was structured, conversational, and surprisingly comfortable. I first met with two attorneys who asked a mix of behavioral and experience-based questions, followed by a more open discussion about my interests and goals. Each interviewer created a welcoming environment, and the conversations felt like genuine exchanges rather than formal evaluations.
