      Front End Developer Interview

      6 Mar 2026
      Anonymous interview candidate
      São Paulo, São Paulo
      No offer
      Negative experience
      Easy interview

      Application

I applied through a recruiter. I interviewed at Deel (São Paulo, São Paulo) in Feb 2026

      Interview

Red Flag: Outdated evaluation focused on memorization, not engineering. Pros: Clear interview stages. Cons: The technical interview is a major red flag for senior developers. Despite claiming to value problem-solving, the technical interviewers are cold and strictly focused on a "script" of syntax memorization. They disregard proven architectural experience and strategic thinking, demanding that you recall specific code by heart without any consultation—ignoring how modern engineering actually works with AI and documentation. If you value professional respect and a modern work culture, stay away from this "company". The process feels like a "check-the-box" exercise rather than a high-level technical discussion.

Porto Alegre, Rio Grande do Sul
      Accepted offer
      Positive experience
      Difficult interview

      Application

I applied through an employee referral. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at Deel (Porto Alegre, Rio Grande do Sul) in Jul 2025

      Interview

Long but quick process, the feedback for each part was quick, normally during the 24h after the interview. Every step was very complete and open, giving me also space to get some questions answered and be open about expectations from both sides.

      Front End Developer Interview

      5 Dec 2024
      Anonymous interview candidate
      No offer
      Negative experience
      Average interview

      Application

I applied online. I interviewed at Deel in Nov 2024

      Interview

Had an initial call with the recruiter and it felt pretty off. She came across as condescending and arrogant and honestly felt like I was just there to help her meet a quota. Moved on to the tech take home challenge next. They explicitly said not to spend more than 3 hours on it. I finished all the requirements in under half that time, but they rejected it, saying there were missing error handling etc...stuff they never mentioned in the brief and way out of scope for what they asked. If someone did include those extras, there's no way they stuck to the 3-hour limit. Feels like more evidence that I was just there to tick a box. The job has been re-listed now, so it might even be ghost hiring. Just a heads-up to anyone considering applying, might not be worth your time. Be aware.
