I applied through other source. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at Deel in May 2024
Interview
In my case, it whole process was a waste of time. I completed the Hometask perfectly (concurrency using transactions with locks and isolation level, controller, model, services, and repositories).
However, I was rejected in the technical interview. Most of the questions they ask are answered on Glassdoor. Look them up carefully, as everything they ask is here.
In my case, they kept trying to persuade me and used my answers to create other questions, which was quite uncomfortable.
Additionally, they asked open-ended questions and expected specific answers in a particular order, they wanted me to say exactly what they were looking for.
They wouldn’t let me finish explaining before asking me to do other things. Honestly, I’m glad I’m not working with them. One of the interviewers had very difficult-to-understand English.

Question 1
What project have you worked with recently?
What tech stack have you primarily worked with
I applied online. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at Deel in Sept 2025
Interview
The interview itself was smooth, and the recruiter was professional and pleasant to speak with. I left the conversation with a very positive impression of the team and the role.
However, after a positive first round, I was rejected with the explanation that the company “only hires Swiss citizens due to very strict legal laws.” This is misleading: as an EU citizen (Italian) already residing in Switzerland, I have the legal right to live and work here under the Free Movement of Persons agreement. In reality, it appears that the limitation was an internal policy rather than a legal requirement.
This was disappointing, as the rejection had nothing to do with skills or eligibility, but with an unnecessarily restrictive and inaccurately justified company rule. Future candidates should be aware that even if you’re fully entitled to work in Switzerland, you may be excluded for reasons unrelated to your qualifications.
