Recruiter did a great job: he answered all my questions and gave me feedback at every stage, we had a lot of communication during the process and I appreciated that. However, I was very disappointed with the live technical challenge. It had four parts: technical questions, design systems, React debugging, and a TypeScript problem. I believe I did well in all except the TypeScript task. Still, I was rejected because they said I needed too much guidance on the React problem. In reality, the interview was in a pair programming format, where collaboration and idea-sharing are expected. That felt contradictory. I was very enthusiastic because the interviewer told me I did a great job, but I was rejected two days later since the pair programming dynamic was not actually expected to be pair programming. I really wanted to be part of Deel, so this feedback felt very contradictory and unexpected.
