Not quite sure what they expected to get, but I talked mostly about the different access speeds of each component and how things like CPU caches work. Mentioned that the GPU is a separate processor with its own memory space, communicating with the main CPU via PCI, etc. Do some wikipedia browsing and you should be able to come up with a good answer.
