      Application

I applied online. The process took 3 weeks. I interviewed at Designity in Apr 2023

      Interview

Not an entry-level or DEI-friendly place to apply + join. If you don't mind unpaid design tests and you happen to have a personality that matches them where they are for project consideration, your priorities might align with each other. Kind of red-flaggy, that's the type of process that creates cliques and narrows perspectives. Since this is a platform/collective, I would say see how it turns out and don't hedge your bets on this place, invest more time applying elsewhere. Commitment to community means little to nothing when you implicitly exclude a portion of said community by starting the process with a quiz that assumes people lack the ability to grow and should have been handed the ideal environment to grow within prior to applying. I will admit, it made me wary of even applying in the first place since they were reminiscent of questions at previous old-school design shops and retailers used to screen applicants. Too reminiscent. Might have screened out valuable talent that could have had comprehensive perspectives and valuable experiences regarding globally-informed design. Not to mention this would also screen out those who know most about innovation and avoiding LESS-OBVIOUS aspects about reinforcing a privileged that excludes parts of the market. It was unfortunate that this place just fell in line with other design collectives after doing more research and asking around. The actual interview process was average, but be very wary so you wisely invest your time. Note that I do mean this literally, and I don't have much to say about what it might be like if you have your career journey figured out late in the game and know exactly what to say and how to respond to blend in. Maybe that's just what you're looking for.

Thank you for sharing your thoughts and concerns about our application process. We would like to clarify some points. At Designity, we do NOT ask any candidates to complete unpaid design tests. Our challenge assignments are all paid and this can be easily proved. Our business model is built to support US-based creatives of all levels, from emerging talents to experienced professionals, and we strive to maintain a diverse and inclusive environment. We understand that the application process may not be suitable for everyone, and we appreciate your feedback.

      Application

I applied online. The process took 4 weeks. I interviewed at Designity (Porto Alegre, Rio Grande do Sul) in Dec 2025

      Interview

I applied, then got an email for an "interview" on a platform that required answering questions in video format. Then I got a paid technical test, which is a nice gesture. The test itself wasn't too heavy, which I found respectful. It is a bit weird to not have actually spoken to a single person after multiple stages of the process; the human touch aspect is gone. This lack of interaction makes it difficult to get questions answered early in the process—such as details about the contract and pay—to ensure it's a mutual fit. I still haven't heard back from them.

      Application

I applied online. The process took 4 weeks. I interviewed at Designity

      Interview

The process was pretty unique. First I applied on the website and answered some design questions, then a 2- hr design challenge. Few days later, I got an invite to speak with the CEO. However, I have heard nothing since then. I got ghosted even though i tried to follow up with the company. The hiring process went from very warm and friendly to extremely cold. Providing an update or response is a way to show respect to your candidates, but it doesn’t seem like the case here.
