I applied in-person. The process took 5 days. I interviewed at Din Tai Fung (Seattle, WA) in Oct 2015
Interview
The interview process is short and it isn't bad. They will ask you to fill out a form and submit it, and depend on their managers' availability you will be later contacted, or you may even just get interviewed immediately. They hire people pretty often, so if they didn't call you back with in a week, feel free to check back with them. In person follow ups are usually the best.
I applied online. I interviewed at Din Tai Fung (Santa Clara, CA)
Interview
The interview was short and straightforward, They interviewed outside of the restaurant. They are probably looking for someone who is outgoing and personable. I wouldn't worry too much about it.
I applied through an employee referral. The process took 1 day. I interviewed at Din Tai Fung (New York, NY) in May 2024
Interview
Interview process was mostly about customer interactions. I was able to impress my interviewer with prior experience handling customer situations (Bonus points if you say "guests" and not "customers"). They want upbeat, unique, and smiling personalities over all.

Question 1
What would you do in a moment where you lost track of your tables orders?
I applied online. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at Din Tai Fung (Los Angeles, CA) in Feb 2024
Interview
The interview was incredibly brief and occurred in a small booth at the front of the busy restaurant. It began immediately after sitting down and involved typical questions such as "tell me about yourself", "have you worked in a restaurant before?", "do you work well in a team?", "do you enjoy working with people?", etc.
