      Games Tester Interview

      18 Jan 2017
      Anonymous interview candidate
      Middlesbrough, England
      No offer
      Neutral experience
      Average interview

      Application

I applied online. I interviewed at Double Eleven (Middlesbrough, England) in Jan 2017

      Interview

The interview process is in two parts, the first part they ask you questions, then they ask you to do a practical test. The first part they asked about your gaming history, about why you want to work in games, why the position of games tester, and about how your previous experience would help. The interviewers were friendly and clear with their questions. The second part they give you a game to play on the console and ask you to find bugs. They ask you to write them in, in whichever software you choose, on the computer they've set up. You have an hour to play and find and record as many bugs as possible, with an optional 15 minutes afterwards, if you feel you need it. They give you a sheet of paper with a log-in for that PC on. There are two strings of letters and numbers on the paper, that's it. One is the username, one is the password. The piece of paper has the log-in and password the wrong way around - the password is first and the username second, this is a deliberate test.
