      Software Innovator Interview

      23 Aug 2018
      Anonymous interview candidate
      No offer
      Negative experience
      Average interview

      Application

I applied online. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at EAI Technologies in Jul 2018

      Interview

Received an email for the one way interview. They only asked 3 questions. All of them can be found in glassdoor. Got into the second round, got paired with an employee. Got an short company introduction in the first 10 minutes. The remaining time was used for answering 3/4 short coding questions. Like what the other's stated, you need to code in a google form. It was a very tedious process. Especially when they pair you with a non tech person. When I was asking some questions to clarify the problem, they just say "Whatever you think is correct". That response does not help at all. One week later, I received a rejection letter from them.

Thanks for your feedback! As background, we are currently receiving over 600 applications every month but only hire a very small fraction of those. We are a small company and have some combination of automated and manual tools we use to review, assess and track this high volume of candidates. Plus we are very thorough in our assessment in adding members to the EAI Family and that results in having a long assessment period. During the past 12 months through this very meticulous process we have added 6 new EAI Family members. Sorry that you did not have a successful experience with us. Good luck with your career search :).

      Interview

Personality test, screening, two technical interviews, and then a culture fit interview. I have to say it *really* sucks to go through so many interview stages and then get silence for a week followed by an automated rejection email. For a company that really seemed to value people over profit (a rarity these days), you could do a lot better than coldly dropping applicants the moment you decide they're not the right fit.

      Interview

I applied online. The process took 2 weeks. First they sent me a PI test, which is similar to IQ test and a personality test. A week later, they emailed and scheduled the next video interview. The girl interviewed me looked and sounded grumpy the whole time, which is totally opposite of the image they are trying to show on their home page or job description. The questions are about introducing myself, my hobbies, and "How much feather are equal to a brick?". I don't know what they are looking for in a candidate, but when I tried to express my thoughts, she stills looked grumpy, tired of listening to me while doing some other tasks.

      Interview

This is my second time interviewing with this company in the last two years. Honestly, the process has not been changed. Apart from the previous tedious processes that they already have, they have added Behavioral Predictive Index and Reasoning assessments. Advice to the people: Do not waste your time by keeping all the hopes in the company because one way or the other they will reject you at some point in the long interview process. Interview with this company to get experience or if you have all the time in the world. Reading Glassdoor questions is sufficient for your interview. Advice to the Company: Do not potentially waste our valuable time interviewing with you guys. Reduce the process and make it simple and easy for both of us. If it takes 6/8 rounds for you to come to a hire/no hire decision then it should be either you don't trust people or your process is not accurate.

Thanks for your input - typically you would not have had a second attempt but switching which applicant tracking system we were using did not catch the duplicate. We apologize for that. More importantly, since we only have less than 40 full time employees, CULTURE and EAI FAMILY are our biggest traits/strengths. So we have multiple interactions with prospects not only for us to get a better understanding of the future family member, but they in turn get to see the reality of life at EAI. This way we minimize any misconceptions of folks coming in seeing EAI with rose colored glasses as we are very candid about the things we can get better at. In addition, we get approximately 600 applications per month for the few openings so it's also quite competitive and culture has to be right. Hope you are able to find a place that aligns with your thinking and culture :) Cheers, V
