The process took 2+ months. I interviewed at ETH Zurich
Interview
The process started off with a rather informal phone interview. Subsequently a face-to-face interview was scheduled. Overall the process was tedious due to the submission requirements (research proposal + research presentation + interviews). During the interview misleading signals were sent. For instance, I was told many project details, even salary information and they asked me to “think about it and then get back to us”. However, I got a rejection the same day. Overall, not a very professional interview. The interview panel should have been more neutral in their communication...

Depends on if supervisor is recruiting students. If they are not, you have no choice other than to find a different first supervisor, and persuade them to be your second supervisor.
