I applied for the job opening on Internshala as soon as it was posted. I received a call from the HR team, who inquired about my experience and asked basic HR questions. However, there seemed to be some unfamiliarity with certain specifics of the job, such as weekly workdays and timings. They mentioned that another team member would contact me for a virtual interview.
After a few days of no communication, I reached out to Early Steps Academy multiple times via email. I was informed that a colleague would be handling my application and would contact me soon. After 3 days, I received an email to schedule a brief video interview, during which I was asked general HR questions. I was informed that I would receive an update after a week, following discussions with other candidates.
Although I felt positive after the interview, my application didn't progress. A week passed without any update. After two days, I followed up with multiple emails but received no response. When I inquired for an update, I was promised to be kept informed. After an hour, I was informed that my application had been rejected.
My experience with Early Steps Academy's hiring process was quite disappointing. I am not disheartened by the rejection itself, but I am surprised as my past experience and responsibilities closely matched the role's requirements at Early Steps Academy.
