So, I sent my resume and cover letter to their job recruiter. They didn’t respond to my resume and cover letter so I had to ask an employee who I know internally my resume status. Someone from their company called me to say that I would have an interview the next day. I agreed to have the interview the next day. The next day I arrived to the interview on time to find that my other friend was being interviewed by the individual who was supposed to interview me. A software engineer decided to interview me instead. So, I interviewed with him. I told him about my professional experience and out of nowhere was given a technical interview. The technical interview was hard even though he stated that it was “easy”. In addition, he told me that he took long to do it in JavaScript before knowing how to do it in Python. Once I was finished with that interview I went to my second interview with the next person in the company. The second interviewer went to another room with the first interviewer to discuss about me. I waited in the other room so the second interviewer can interview me. The second interviewer seemed uninterested in me when speaking about my professional experience and he told me after the interview I would not be getting the job. Companies usually take a week to make a final decision on a candidate which is very unprofessional. Update: So, I found out that my other friend who was interviewed got an easier technical interview question that dealt with the averaging of two data sets. There is definitely bias in the interview.

First interview is typical call about work experience. Second is technical interview with a team member or two. There might be a recursion question involved. Last interview is with the founder and CEO in which there a bunch of behavioral questions like why are you leaving current company, tell me about a time you failed, how do handle co-worker conflicts, etc.
