      Market Research Analyst Interview

      Anonymous interview candidate
      No offer
      Neutral experience
      Average interview

      Application

I interviewed at Eli Lilly and Company

      Interview

Series of four behavioral questions- challenging person to work with, thinking outside the box, solving a difficulty in the workplace, etc. Then a Q&A afterwards- lasted a little over 30 minutes. Pretty standard interview, not challenging with the questions, but be ready to go.

      Question 1

Who was a challenging person to work with, and how did you handle it? How did you solve a difficult time in the workplace?

      Application

I applied through a recruiter. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at Eli Lilly and Company (Indianapolis, IN) in Jan 2016

      Interview

Online application, followed by a telephone interview, and then in-person interview with 3 people. Very disorganized. I arrived 15 minutes before the scheduled interview time and waited in the lobby for someone to escort me inside. That person was 10 minutes late. I sat in a conference room for the first interviewer and that individual never showed up. The person who escorted me inside came and asked how the interview went, oblivious to the fact that the manager never showed. Moved onto the next interview and the manager didn't seem prepared at all. Third interview was good. The manager was prepared, knew who I was, and asked questions that actually pertained to the role. I was called and offered a position the next day. They told me to expect an email with more information and instructions on how to formally accept the offer Upon receiving the formal offer, I realized the job offer was not for the position I applied to. Nobody mentioned a single thing about this prior, and I contacted the recruiter to ask about it. She did not know why I was offered that position, but was able to confirm that it was correct from the manager that interviewed me. Apparently, Eli Lilly interviews for departments/roles, and not specific positions. This was not communicated to me at all. I attempted to contact that manager and did not get a response for over a week after 3 emails and two phone calls. Due to the poor communication and incredible disorganization, I decided not to accept the position. I was completely blown away with how poorly this whole process was conducted. I was not interested in the job they tried to offer me, and was very upset with how they handled it.

      Interview questions [1]

      Question 1

Lot's of vague questions that didn't focus much on the specific job. Managers seemed unprepared and disorganized.
