I applied through a recruiter. The process took 3 weeks. I interviewed at Empirico (San Diego, CA) in Jan 2024
Interview
Simple interview. First starts with a call from HR, then a simple code screen process. Next is a technical interview and then a final sit down interview. Straight forward really, yet was not offered the position due to a lack of experience though I passed all the assessments.

I applied online. The process took 6 weeks. I interviewed at Empirico (San Diego, CA) in Aug 2022
Interview
I had to take an online assessment. A typical coding test on a platform many companies use for that sort of thing. It was a breeze. And then I had to have an interview with the hiring manager who would have been my mentor & first line supervisor if I had obtained the job. Finally, I had a technical interview where 3 employees working on the team I would be a part of including my potential boss's boss on that small team were interviewing me. Unfortunately, while I did get running code by the end of it after a very solid 45 minutes or a bit more, that was only for one problem which was probably expected to be completed in about 15 minutes or less. Needless to say I was not selected.

Question 1
They had me doing a basic data transformation with the Python standard library. Some dictionaries. Things you would probably usually do with pandas, but, the deal was, you only use the standard library.
