      Application

I applied online. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at Enterprise Mobility in May 2025

      Interview

Started with a phone screening interview and followed by a video interview - everything seemed good and even got invited to an in-person interview. I was a bit concerned as it wasn't at the branch I applied for but a completely different one. On the day I arrived and the man at the desk had to ask me 4 times for my name - which already gave me red flags, if customer service is your ethos... how couldn't you remember my name after asking me four times? As well as that, he was very cocky and un-welcoming which really threw me off. I had to wait 20 minutes for the area manager to show up which I can understand as they are busy individuals however, the staff that were there didn't really talk to me and gave me very brief, one word answers when I did ask questions. The whole interview was quite unstructured. I was told I'd be there for 3 hours however, 1 hour consisted of me asking people questions they couldn't be bothered to answer and a 30 minute interview of questions I'd already been asked about in the video interview. The time you spend with the staff is very awkward, even if you have questions to ask. They are very busy and have work to be doing, so that combined with the unwelcoming attitude from some of them meant I didn't ask as many questions as I wanted to. When asking about the job, I was told "Speed is key, if you're not fast don't bother because we want as much money as possible" which is great but when getting to know a job and learning, you're not going to be quick in your first few weeks. Additionally, I was warned by most staff members and the area manager who did the interview about the long hours. Basically, if I wanted a social life and work-life balance alongside my job - look elsewhere because that doesn't exist at Enterprise. You get paid for overtime apparently however, you could be working 10 hour days for £30,000 a year which is basically minimum wage when you work it out. I also found that you don't do much in terms of management. It is a graduate scheme to learn how to become a manager and learn how to run the branch, but hearing from a trainee they primarily just collect and issue cars, drop off customers, clean cars and answer the phone. I understand that is what is part of running a branch however, I feel that if this is the majority of the job, claiming you can get experience in all areas of a business is a lie when the job wants to to be a sales and customer service machine only. Do not recommend. Just because you're a graduate it doesn't mean they can work you like a dog for the smallest amount of money.
