Recruiter screening, then an interview with the project manager, then a team interview. They were all very kind during the process. They bragged about one of their company leadership who took a giant pay cut to work for them because "she's so passionate about what we do." They later asked why I was looking for a new job. I answered with the usual "I want to advance my career. Want to learn new skills. Want to provide (financially) better for my family." The same day I got an email from the recruiter saying they wanted to discontinue the interview process. She said "They were turned off that you were looking for a pay increase." That's precisely why I was looking for a new job, because I was already underpaid. Word of advice, if a place is "turned off" that you hope to get paid, then that's a giant red flag. If nobody got paid for working, nobody would work.
