I first received an email from HR requesting some initial information, including my notice period, right to work status in Ireland (full right to work or sponsorship required), salary expectations, and what attracted me to the position and how my experience matched the role requirements.
After responding, there was no communication for about 15 days, even after a follow-up. Eventually, I received an invitation for a 45-minute interview with the Head . The interview included detailed questions from my resume and role-specific technical and competitive questions.
The entire hiring process took around 75 days, which felt quite lengthy. I was confident that I had answered the questions well, but I eventually received a rejection. I reached out to HR for feedback, and they were very professional and courteous. They mentioned that they liked my profile but felt that since I was currently in a contract role, it might not be the right fit at that time. They also encouraged me to reapply for future opportunities.
However, through my own follow-up and understanding of the situation, it appeared that the role was ultimately filled internally within the company, which may have been the main reason for the decision.
