Interview
I applied for a summer internship sometime in early November, and was contacted for the position mid-March. A telephone conference date was scheduled for the following Monday with representatives from the interested department. The telephone interview lasted about 30 minutes. The interviewers gave me a brief overview of their department, as well as the type of projects they would be working on. The interviewers asked if I had any questions about the position. The majority of the interview was me asking questions. The interviewers seemed to encourage this, and liked that I had many questions about the position.
Note: I also went through a recruiter in HR, and was not interviewed until I followed up with HR in March. Shortly after I sent the recruiter a follow-up email, I was contacted for an interview. I was offered the position a week after the interview.
