      Interview

The process was demanding and with expected a high skill level set. However, interviewers explained all questions very well even though questions sounded tricky. They ask objective-oriented programming based on some code and you have to recognize patterns used in the code.

      Interview questions [1]

      Question 1

What patterns do you code patterns do you recognize in the code and why do you think are used.

      Software Engineer Interview

      29 Dec 2019

      Interview

My experience was at an on-campus career fair, This is a review of a very unprofessional experience I had with one of the recruiters. After the recruiter I spoke with saw I wasn't from that campus but from another campus, even though this campus gave me permission to attend, I was immediately turned down due to relocation costs, although I had explained my story and that that would not have been necessary. Without listening to what I had to say, I was immediately told, "we do not accept students from your university because we do not pay for relocation. We receive 1000s of applications (implying they would not even bother giving me a chance)." After being told that, I had to explain the same story I explained prior to that multiple times.... while the recruiter just stared blankly away. Every word I said after felt like I was talking to a wall. I honestly felt humiliated. I felt like I was not being heard, or given a fair chance, immediately after the recruiter glanced at what school I went to or where I came from. The words I was told felt cold and mechanic, and left an impression on me that I will not forget. It was the first company I stopped at, and every other company after was kind and professional and listened to my story and qualifications, and gave me a chance. I could easily leave a review of this company to the campus of the career fair I attended that could have negative repercussions, so I do not understand how this company can act so unprofessional. It's experiences like that that give people a negative first impression of the company. I hope that for future career fairs or 1st contacts with other candidates, that all recruiters give adequate attention to each person speaking to them, and simply listen to what a candidate has to say along with their story and qualifications. Luckily, I eventually accepted 1 of 2 offers from two other amazing companies. First impressions matter and make a difference. I am writing this so hopefully what happened to me does not happen to others.
