The base salary in the JD was 152-198k. But the recruiter said the actual salary is 155-165k. She tried to say I am asking too much but I said this is in your JD! The ugly part is she kept asking my current salary!! which is illegal in Massachusetts!! I responded that I do not want to discuss this topic but she asked again! It was rude! What more? I said a total comp for this role according to market is x1-x2. She said that is above what this role pays. I did a quick math for her on the spot and showed her that with 198k in JD, the total comp actually comes above what I proposed!
