Expel Software Engineer interview questions

There were 5 rounds: + CV: send CV + Get to know the company and introduce myself: talking to a senior software engineer. + Coding interview: in Python on writing API calls and discussed about the application. + System design interview: design an application for car park entry. + Team interview: talked about the team and myself

The Interview process was pretty great, if a bit long. There were a total of 6 interviews spread over a period of 2 weeks. The interview break downs were: Interview 1: Recruiter Phone screen with the recruiter. The recruiter was a pure delight to work with and its mostly to check to see if you are the right cultural fit. Interview 2: Hiring Manager The second interview is with the manager of the team you'd be working on. Pretty standard culture/tech questions and more of a gage of whether you values align with the team. Interview 3: Tech Interview The tech interview is structured as a pair programming exercise with 2 developers. It was a nice change of pace from the rote "Solve this riddle" that is common in tech interviews. It was ok that I didn't know the language the interview was in (JavaScript) as they did most of the writing. It was up to me to drive the ship on what needed to be written and the structure of the code. If you pass the first 3 interviews, you move on to basically a half a day of 3 interviews with the team. Interview 4: Culture Interview The interview was with engineers to get a gage of whether we would like working together Interview 5. Previous Technical Work This interview delved into my past technical work on my resume and github and my general knowledge of my expertise. The questions were really specific and detailed Interview 6: Quality Assurance This interview focused on maintaining quality code. All in all the interview was pretty thorough but fun and the recruiter was great with constant communication on how the process was going.
