I applied in-person. The process took 1 day. I interviewed at Express (Sacramento, CA) in Aug 2009
Interview
This was my first retail job and my sister had worked for Express while she was going to college, so as a sophomore in college I walked in to pick up an application. Following my sister's advice I made sure to be wearing the product and dressed as fashion forward as possible (while being classy). I introduced myself to the hiring manager, received an application, returned it the next day and got a call back to interview that same day. The interview consisted of basic questions, "tell me a little bit about yourself?" "what do you know about our company?" and then proceeded to ask me about my prior work experience and work related/behavioral based questions.

Question 1
How would you approach the following scenario? If you were completing a task that a manager asked you to do (ex. refolding merchandise) and a client walked in and asked for help or advice on a product and you were the only one there, what would you do?
I first applied online, and then I got an interview date and time, and then I went into the location for the interview. After that I just waited for a little bit of time and then I was sent an offer that I signed
Applied online, interviewed in person the next day. Interview was basically a vibe check. More important to apply during peak season (early spring or early fall) when they're hiring the most. Make sure you have availability on the weekend.
Easy and straight forward interview. They ask for your availability and if have fashion experience. Also, asks about previous sales and customer service experience. The job itself is not hard at all.
