One Hour interview with project team members.
Fannie Mae has always had a reputation for hiring ONLY Asian employees for their technical department (mainly because most of the technical managers are Asian). Yes. 100% Nepotism.
In a city as diverse as Washington, DC with a 3.1% Asian population, the Fannie teams are 100% Asian. Consider this before accepting a position. All though the interviewers were somewhat hostile, they ultimately recommended me for position.

Question 1
What are some of your greatest technical accomplishments?
I applied online. I interviewed at Fannie Mae in Nov 2025
Interview
Recruiter reached out to me following my application. Everything went well, and they told me to watch my email for next steps and gave me the hiring manager and coordinator's info who would be contacting me next. Never ended up hearing back from anyone, so I followed up with them only to get ignored again. Very disrespectful from the recruiting team, and completely wasted my time considering this company.
I applied through an employee referral. The process took 4 weeks. I interviewed at Fannie Mae (Herndon, VA) in Dec 2010
Interview
Over phone and in person, very professional with person who would be my boss and then with her boss. The questions centered around my current abilities and the technologies they were going to be employing on the project (Oracle and Seibel). They wanted to be assured that I was interested in these areas and willing to work in a team on a large project.

Question 1
Nothing really, very straight forward. They asked me about specific software packages and if I had knowledge of them and if not was I interested in learning about them.
