      Application

The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at FightCamp (Costa Mesa, CA)

      Interview

A couple of basic phone interviews followed by a two day trial. The two day trial consisted of a coding challenge and a couple of meetings to get to know the team. The team was laid back and seemed like they really wanted to get to know me. The interview process was great and it seemed like a great all around company. All that changed when the code review at the end of the last day began. It was conducted by 3 engineers of which 2 were very polite and asked thoughtful questions throughout. So it was shocking then when the 3rd engineer was so rude. The project was a fairly straightforward feature that they asked to be built in a specific architecture. When the engineer saw that a static header wasn’t in the right place (according to him) he began lambasting the code. After that he just asked to open various files and made one snarky comment after the other such as “no view model for this huh”. It was so belittling that I was just hoping for the review to end at that point. Sadly it did not that was only the halfway point. I left the interview knowing I wasn’t getting an offer but also wondering even if by some small chance I did how could I possibly accept it after how incredibly rude that one engineer was.

      Easy interview

      Application

I applied through a recruiter. The process took 1+ week. I interviewed at FightCamp (Costa Mesa, CA) in Jan 2021

      Interview

Contacted on LinkedIn by recruiter. Intro call with recruiter... had seen ads online about FightCamp on social media but wasn’t that interested. I had concern of a potential decline after covid in the home exercise industry. But recruiter was very persistent and finally got me to interview after a week or two. One hour interview with two developers, discussion was behavioral and high level tech- not difficult. I liked the developers I interviewed with and appreciated their approach... I actually ended up being more into the opportunity than I was initially. After the interview didn’t hear anything for about a week- followed up with the recruiter at that time. Never received a response, pretty terrible way to treat a candidate that took their time to interview with your company. Don’t normally post interview reviews but this one really stuck with me as being rude- at least respond with a no.

      Question 1

High level/cookie cutter tech questions around common swift ins and outs and arch questions they didn’t really dig into all that much.

Thank you for taking the time to leave feedback on the interview process. We’re very sorry to hear that your interview experience at FightCamp was negative. We are surprised to hear that you received no communication after a formal interview. You can be sure that it is a priority for us here at FightCamp to communicate with all prospective candidates, especially if we had been in contact previously. If somehow this correspondence was missed, we again apologize. We always welcome feedback and are available to answer any questions about the interview process
