      Easy interview

      Application

I applied online. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at Fincity in Jul 2024

      Interview

Save time, they're gonna ghost you anyway. The first round well well, generic java questions were asked and a dsa question. It was a 30 minute interview, so time allotted felt scarce. But the interviewer was kind enough to extend it by 10 mins so I could solve. Second round was a disaster. The interviewer cancelled AFTER I joined the call. Then the call was rescheduled, It went pretty smooth. A DSA question was asked. The feedback seemed positive. Then, the recruiter ghosts. I mailed her if my application was still active, but never heard back. So, save time and interview for a decent company instead of such shady startups!

      Interview

This is with all love and respect for everyone in FinCity. I have been waiting to review about this interview experience from quiet some time, but been busy with my own schedule. I had a word with CTO (I believe as I don't remember now) of the company over telephone and thats how interview got scheduled. I was interviewed their office at Vittal Mallya Road. As I entered, he greeted and welcomed me to meeting room. We spoke for nearly 10-15 minutes and he was professional and I really liked talking to him about company's vision, what they are looking for, and of course about me as well. Asking for my CTC and hearing that, he felt they might not be able to offer that. As I showed my interest is much towards a good product and not just salary, he was happy about it. Sometime later, the interviewer entered and began asking me few questions. He gave me the question and both of them went out. Sometime later interviewer alone came back and asked me about my current salary. Hearing that, he nodded his head, and a minute later he interrupted my writing code to the problem he gave me by telling "A 3 months fresher solved this is in 30 seconds. Why you are taking time ? Experience people should be solving it better". It was not the words alone that hurt me, but the tone he used. I told in mind "Why couldn't you keep a fresher for my post and Why am I here ? I have far better things to do." As this thought kept me feeling down, I got to know I cant continue to solve this problem. So, I told "I am sorry, I don't know how to do it". So he gave me a simple solution of printing using for loop, which I refused to solve by saying "I am sorry, I don't think I don't know how to solve this. " So, he made it even super simple, I even refused it. I could have told, I am sorry I don't want to continue with the interview anymore but I felt it would be bad attitude and in fact i don't know what should i do, as I was all frustrated. He started asking me OOP and Python questions most of which I refused and gave false answer. Honestly speaking, I have given more than 100 interviews in my career so far and I am not best at my work and I believe, I am still learning and I have lot to learn more than what I did so far. But this interview was a real bad experience I had in my career. I have no time for facing anyone's egos and humiliation. They took sometime to reject my candidature, but I had decided much before that not to continue with them. I am someone who value company culture and values a lot and I am placed in being part of such a company who have their own values.
