The process was in 3 stages with an initial chat with First Response Finance’s recruitment team about my experience and values. I was then invited to an open evening which could be described as open networking with staff members doing the BDM role currently, this gave the staff an opportunity to informally ask me questions and was also a fabulous chance to openly ask them questions. I found this really useful as it wasn’t a one way conversation like most interviews and gave me the opportunity to get the perspective, approach and feedback on the role from different members of staff. Most importantly, it was a great opportunity to find out if First Response Finance was a fit for me! It was only a few days before I heard back that I was selected for the assessment day. The assessment day was jam packed with tasks but it’s made sure that you gain feedback throughout the day and you understand why each task is relatable to the job role. All staff I spoke to were polite, friendly and encouraging even those we spoke to in passing throughout the day. It’s made sure you feel comfortable throughout the day with refreshments and food provided. I found the information sent in advance of the meeting really useful with information of where to park and what to expect. I got through to the final stage of the day and the decision was given the following day, which didn’t feel unnecessarily prolonged.
