You come in and they ask you a few questions and a little about yourself. If your fit the job, they call you back and you're hired! Make sure that you are not nervous and that you have "people skills". They want someone who connects with the customers.

Why should we pick you for the job? What do you bring to the table?
I applied online and got a phone call a week later to do the in person interview. In person I had to visit the store and ask for the manager that contacted me.
The interview was quick and easy. They asked basic sales-related questions and just wanted to make sure you would be pleasant and helpful. No in-depth shoe knowledge is necessary. Not for you if you want to be a laid back sales person.

How could you help a customer who is having trouble deciding what type of shoe they want?
It was 10-15 minutes. Went pretty easy. They asked about me random questions and then told me about the job. The interviewer was nice and told me not to worry and that it is just general things.
