      Enterprise Account Executive Interview

      9 Sept 2019
      Anonymous interview candidate
      Atlanta, GA
      No offer
      Negative experience
      Difficult interview

      Application

I applied online. The process took 4 weeks. I interviewed at Fountain (Atlanta, GA) in Aug 2019

      Interview

The interview process was about 6 rounds and a 1 month long process. (1) Phone Screening. (2) Video Interview. (3) 2nd Video Interview. (4) Coffee Meeting. (5) Panel Interview with Mock Demo with slide deck based on fake scenario and 2 pages of requirements. (6) Call with C-Level Executive (which was not supposed to be part of the process, but was added on at the last minute). I was informed of my performance throughout each step of the interview and after acing the panel interview with a mock demo, I was told that I had the position and to lookout for an email from HR. I received an email from the member of HR that I was working with the entire time and he expressed how everything went so well and everybody only had positive things to say about me. He said that the team was putting together their hiring plan and would be back in touch shortly. On the same day and in the same email chain, he asked me to have a short call with the a new C-Level Exec (the exec was literally on his 5th day there). I was a bit annoyed because that wasn't supposed to be part of what was already a lengthy interview process. But, I went ahead. Once on the phone, the C-Level Exec started asking questions like it was a round 1 interview!! At the end of the call, he told me that it's his job to make sure that everybody has the resources they need to be successful, and that he was surprised to be speaking with me because he didn't even know a role was available on the team and I wouldn't be getting an offer anytime soon. Received a followup email today that they decided to no longer expand the team. This interview was a total waste of time. It is unprofessional to put a candidate through 6 rounds and about 7 hours worth of interviews, if the headcount isn't there. I had to take time off of work to sit through all of these video interviews, I missed another interview because of their coffee interview being late to start, all to have wasted my time. Unethical and unprofessional. Although the offer is there to partner in the future, I would never work with them or for them in the future.
