      Marketing Director Interview

      Application

I applied online. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at Frontier in Nov 2011

      Interview

One of the strangest interview processes I have ever encountered. I originally applied on line, and then went through one telephone conversation with the regional HR person. A couple weeks later, they wanted to see me. Since the office was in northern Indiana, and I was several states away, this entailed a flight. Rather than bringing me in the night before and be rested, they arranged for flight that got me out of bed at 4:00 AM and entailed 6 hours of transit time for a 1:00 PM meeting. When I arrived at 11:00 AM to their office (they had arranged for a taxi -- and the driver had no idea where the office was, which was another adventure), there was no one to meet me at the locked door. I was able to gain entry after calling the HR person, who then called someone inside the building. This person sat me in a boardroom for 2 hours of waiting until the hiring manager was available. The meeting lasted about 2 hours, but was more me asking questions than being interviewed. That was followed by a building tour. During that, I realized the "big guy" did not know everyone who worked for him. Upon my return home I sent "thank you" notes to all concerned, then called a few days later to HR, and left a few messages over 2 weeks. Never got to talk to a soul. Then, one day, out of the blue, a computer-generated rejection letter appeared. The whole process was a comedy of stupidity. Obviously, the other reviews here are likely pretty accurate. Frontier is certainly no Verizon. Their customers and employees certainly know that, according to numerous news, complaint boards, and other reports on the Internet. At least I got some frequent flyer miles out of the deal.

      Question 1

I really can't remember any tough questions, as II had to lead most of the conversation.
