The interview process at Funding Circle quite straightforward. Initially I had a call with their internal recruiter to discuss the role and briefly go over my experience. Following the recruiter call was a one hour video interview solving a coding project on Coderpad, the interviewers are very friendly and do a good job of making you feel relaxed. They will often jump in offer helpful points when necessary. The next and last stage is a 3 hour on site, consisting of 3 separate interviews. Each interview was with 1 or two staff members from FC, with different staff for each stage; - Pair programming session where you are required to work on a single problem, the session is more focused on your engineering tendencies and capabilities vs. solving the problem as fast as possible. Again the engineers will often jump in as you solve the exercise. - Engineering principles session where you describe a project that you previously worked on in depth, with some discussion around engineering best practices etc. - Cultural interview, this is a bit of a mix between competency questions and just having a chat, with the aim to find out more about you and how you'd fit in at FC. All the interviewers then come together (usually the day after) and discuss how you performed, with the yes/no/yes with reservations format. All the way through the process FC did a great job of staying in touch, and I was never wondering what was going on with my application for long. Ultimately I didn't receive an offer, but I'll give credit to their internal hiring team, the whole process was very stress free and enjoyable. Following a rejection I received a phonecall to discuss my strengths and weaknesses in performance, with very useful personal feedback.

Architectural test Process is pretty straight forward but the 3 last interviews are booked together and you have to do them even if you didn't do well enough to pass the previous one. It can be in 1 day or spread in multiple days. The coding test was to assign loans "fairly" based on people's preferences. Not very "leet code" like, white fair. The architecture thing is to build a twitter clone. You need to think higher level about the whole architecture.
