Submitted app online was called a week later to be interviewed on the same day. After a 2 hour drive to Long Island and searching the small business park for the hole-in-the-wall office space, I was met by Morty the admin guy. Everyone was really friendly and welcomed me with coffee and candy. After a brief run-down about the company's history and the competition that I faced for the position, I was interviewed by the boss.
The interview started off with basic electronics questions and problem solving. It ended with a big let-down that I would need to own a car for the position. Only having a motorcycle and not qualifying for financing on a used car forced me to decline the position. Running around NY fixing bp monitors and pulse oximeters in nursing homes without a vehicle would be impossible, let alone finding an apartment with parking with a $15/hr salary.
