I must admit the interview went great! The interviewer was great, the conversation was great, everything was great. I thought for sure there would be an offer, or at least a second interview. Nada. Ghosted. No response to follow up questions. No "sorry but we found someone better", nothing. Getting ghosted is far worse that getting a NO.
I realized that the Glassdoor ratings are poor, and that there may be obstacles, but I heard that they had a new CEO, and thus was hoping things changed. I thought the company was semi-organized from the outside and maybe would be a great place to make an impact. Guess not. Since I'm well qualified for the position and willing to work in-house, I can only assume there are two possible reasons for getting ghosted: discrimination or I wasn't a paying customer. They "highly encourage" you to be a customer. In the application they ask which content you watch on their platform...which is a required field. Seems like a fair employment violation to me.
Anyway if you want to work here sign up a couple months before applying and watch some content so you at least have some stories to tell. Can't imagine they can fire you if you drop the subscription after starting work. Although, you're better off saving time and moving on.
