      Software Engineer Interview

      16 Oct 2015
      Anonymous interview candidate
      No offer
      Negative experience

      Application

I applied online. The process took 4 weeks. I interviewed at Game Closure in Sept 2015

      Interview

Please do not apply for this company and waste your time. After a phone call with recruiter she sent a coding challenge and an essay writeup(not easy involves a lot of research) to finish in 7 days. After taking so much interest and working through it, they did not even bother to reply for 3 weeks. When i emailed asking about the status, this is what they replied: "Thanks for your interest in Weeby.co. We are sorry to inform you that we couldn't find a strong fit for your background and skill set for an active position at this time. We will keep you in our system over the next 6 months, and contact you if a position opens up that may be a good fit. If your background or qualifications change, or you see another position at Weeby.co open up that you think would be a great fit, please feel free to contact us to restart the process. Thanks so much for taking the time and effort to interview with us, we appreciate your interest in our company and your time spent on the simulation. Good luck in your search!" Why do they want to send a coding challenge and recruiter has to call me when they think there is no position that is a good fit for my background. Did they even look at my resume? I would have felt happier even though they did not offer me a job at least if they could give a review about my code for the challenge and essay.

      14 Dec 2015
      Anonymous interview candidate
      San Francisco, CA
      No offer
      Negative experience
      Average interview

      Application

I applied online. The process took 4 weeks. I interviewed at Game Closure (San Francisco, CA) in Nov 2015

      Interview

Didn't even get an interview process. They asked for a project and an essay. I worked hard for the coding challenge. The company probably didn't even look at it and took well over two weeks and doesn't even reply. When they do reply they said my work is not documented. When I in fact documented all of my code. One of the worst experiences ever and I really hope people don't apply to this company. This company has such bad manner.

I'm sorry to hear you did not have a good experience interviewing with us. We do take the time to look at everyone's coding challenges. But we appreciate your review and we are working on changing our process.
