I saw a posting online for the Toronto, Canada office and applied for the role. I received an email and test for the job role.
I did my background research about the company and games, i went as far as making some connections via Linkedin and asked for feedback and thoughts on my test for the studio ( one was a former employee and one was a current employee both of whom were in the role i was looking to apply for) I spent a total about 2-3 days to complete my test and included my thought process and final work(s).
I submitted and waited, one week went back and i heard nothing back so i politely emailed to ask about the status to be told that it was not being reviewed yet.
Another week goes by, same answer, two weeks at this point with no feedback at all until i call the HR person in the 3rd week to ask and to be told that they finally are "reviewing" and another week goes by.
Finally after a month i got a short reply back from the HR manager to inform me that my work wasn't selected, no reason, no points as to possibly why despite having far more than enough experience for the role, excellent references, a solid portfolio and what i would deem as a very solid test.
It's absolutely ridiculous that it would take a month to review a non senior role and especially after being told by a current employee that my work was "98%" there somehow that 2% was a dealbreaker for this studio.
