The process was all very unprofessional. I applied for a position through Linkedin. A month later, I was bombed by calls from a recruiter from Genpak. I was in trasit, so I contacted the recruiter through Linkedin, requesting more information regarding the position. The recruiter send me the same job description I found on the Linkedin ad and asked me about my salary expectation. I told him I needed more info about the position to be able to provide it, asked if the position was a direct hire, and requested confirmation if it was a remote position. The recruiter confirmed that it was a remote position and a direct hire. We proceeded to a phone call. The only question was "tell me about your experience". No further questions were asked by the recruiter, as he weren't familiar to the nature of the business (aviation) nor the technical terms I was using to describe my previous experiences. I, once again, asked for details about the position. The recruiter had no knowledge about it, and kept repeating the very same information from the job description. He then, disclosed the offered salary, in US$. I asked about the benefits and I was told that it would be a 401K package, plus dental and bonuses. It didn't made any sense, since I'm in Canada and he had previously informed that it would be a canadian contract. A couple of minutes after the phone interview, I received an email requesting me to sign an "exclusive authorization to submit and represent me for the position", meaning that it wasn't a direct hire, but a third part placement. On the same email it was stated as well that the role was located somewhere else (not remote) and that the base salary was in CAD (same nember as US$, but in CAD). I sent a couple of follow up email asking for clarification, as the salary, the benefits, the location and the working conditions were all different on the "offer" from what I was informed on our Linkedin chat and by the phone. I never received a reply.
