A third-party recruiter working for Gentrack contacted me. I got two interviews scheduled, 1 technical and 1 Hiring Manager. I cleared the technical round; one question was to remove duplicate elements while maintaining the order and other question was to find transpose of matrix in-place and also. One sql query was asked to find second highest income. In the hiring manager round, I didn't expect it will be the worst interview experience of my career. The interviewer (Vivek Sharma) first asked why I left my previous company and kept digging into the reason I gave, I explained yet he seemed dissatisfied cause he thought it was a bookish answer. If the HR people are okay with reasons I gave, why is he bothered this much with my reason to leave my previous company, he should be evaluating my competency and experience. He then asked what projects I worked on in my previous company, while I was answering he started yawning and closed his eyes (kind of like napping), it was humiliating. He didn't ask any technical question as I think he made up his mind to reject me while napping. The round completed in less than 20 min. I think Gentrack Pune has significant number of ex-Amdocs employees who prefer Amdocs candidate over others. They give vague reasons like "culture fit" to reject candidates.
Also, the company needs to work on their interview process.
