I applied through a recruiter. The process took 1 day. I interviewed at Gepik (Gapyeong) in Jan 2012
Interview
They called me because I worked at a local private school and they heard from the students I was good. They promised me lots of free time and an easy schedule, etc. The first call was from the Middle School. The second call was from the Elementary School in my town.
A lovely company called Korvia helped me find my job. When you first contact the recruiters through their website, you will be scheduled a recruiter who will shoot a few emails between you, and will schedule a skype interview. After completing a skype interview, they will tell you that they are happy (hopefully) to recommend you to principals of various schools in the Gyeonggi-do province surrounding Seoul. When they match you with a school, you still have to interview with that school via skype. I was passed up on 3 different schools before I landed the PERFECT school in Gwacheon. Such wonderful memories.

I applied through university. The process took 6 weeks. I interviewed at Gepik

I actually had no interview. The application process was fairly rigorous and included a federal background check, a TESOL certificate, and several essays, but I was accepted to the program based on those.
