I applied online. The process took 1 day. I interviewed at GlobalFoundries (Malta, NY) in Nov 2009
Interview
No one had business cards yet I met with pretty much the entire upper engineering management staff. Everyone who interviewed that day got the cold shoulder from the HR manager who didn't show(what turned out to be due to no active offers). Sent on our way with no feedback at all, very unprofessional. Upper management seems confused as to what the desire in a candidate, they want PhD level people for a high volume manufacturing environment and they are surprised when people of that level are just using them to get better pay at their R&D jobs. AMD management will struggle in the very competitive world of foundry work and there will be alot of pain until they find their way, hopefully Abu Dhabi doesn't run out of money saving Dubai as this company is going to need more of it.
Interview questions [1]
Question 1
Did you ever feel having a more advanced degree would have helped you perform better at your job?
I applied through other source. I interviewed at GlobalFoundries in May 2025
Interview
The interviewer appeared completely disengaged during the entire interview. No reaction, minimal interaction, and little effort to create a respectful atmosphere. It felt like I was never seriously considered, which was disappointing.

Interview
Interview process took about 45min and the supervisor doing the interview was very nice. Ensured that I understood what the job is about. Most questions asked was quite generic and he just wanted to find out if your personality was a match for the company.

Interview
Not stressful, rather standard but non-exhaustive interview questions. Interviewer was kind and allows you to speak freely and comfortably. As long as you've prepared, it should not be difficult. First they ask to share about your resume experiences, then they share with you about the role.
