      Account Executive Interview

I applied online. I interviewed at Gong (Atlanta, GA) in Jan 2022

      Interview

I recently went through “the ringer” with Gong and it was a great experience. To start, Christina Bratsch, my recruiter, was amazing! She set the expectation up front for what the process would look like and the job responsibilities, answered my questions in detail, and always helped me with the next round interview - thank you, Christina! For the HM, I had the pleasure to be interviewed by Emily Pease. I could tell quickly that she knows how to read people and I imagine uses that a lot to motivate her team in performing well. She asked good behavioral questions to learn how I think about different circumstances and find my way through adversity. I would have felt very comfortable under her leadership. After this came the best part - the mock interview!! It was a standard B2B disco call where I needed to inevitably get a date for a demo. Bryan Tucker & Jordan Woolbright did a great job at navigating through this and gave feedback half way through for me to implement. Very well constructed. After this, I met with Justin Geller, Head of Commercial. Much like Emily, Justin did well in reading me, starting with a good ice breaker to remind us we’re human. He dig deeper into my background to see what my drive is. This is where it all went wrong for me as I could tell it didn’t impress him. All I really want is meaningful work & meaningful relationships, which isn’t the sexiest thing to say in a Growth-like AE role. He was great nonetheless! The final challenge round was with the big man himself - Jameson Yung, VO of Sales. In terms of the agenda, it was kind of the same as Justin’s and if I’m looking back at it now, I’m pretty sure it was to give me a second chance with my motivation and what drives me. So, it’s safe to say I didn’t impress Jameson either. I’ll have to work on that moving forward. At the end, I didn’t get an offer and I hate to have wasted the time of everyone involved. It was great to interact with each of them though and I’ll be implementing the feedback to learn from it. PS: this is coming from someone who currently works at a competitor of Gong. They have a great team!

      Interview

Recruiters up front have been great, though through the interview process they fail to respond. I have gone through the interview process here three times as recruiters have either ghosted, left, or simply changed direction. Not once was I given a yes/no from a recruiter, and managers continue to reach out to me on LinkedIn.

      Interview

After investing approximately two months in the interview process with the team at Gong, my experience was mixed. Following initial outreach from the hiring manager, it took about two weeks to schedule the recruiter screen, and nearly another month to reconnect with the hiring manager. I was then advanced to the presentation stage, where I was asked—based on a brief, somewhat vague one-page document—to prepare an account plan and conduct a mock discovery call. While I felt I performed well, it seemed the expectations were higher than what was outlined. During the discussion, I was asked what materials had been provided for preparation, but I did not receive any additional feedback or clarity afterward. After the final round, there was a gap of roughly two weeks with no communication. Instead of receiving a follow-up call or message regarding the decision, I was sent a generic feedback request email, which felt misaligned given the time and effort invested throughout the process.

      Account Executive Interview

      Application

I applied online. I interviewed at Gong (Dublin, Dublin) in Nov 2025

      Interview

I had a first round interview with Gong for Dublin. Unfortunately, I found the process unprofessional. My interviewer was 5 minutes late, and although that isn't a deal breaker, he didn't even acknowledge arriving late at all. He was also wearing a t-shirt which wasn't in good condition. Again, I don't mind wearing casual clothes to the office when appropriate but normally for calls with external clients/candidates, more formal attire would be welcomed. The interview lasted only 12 minutes and I wasn't asked a lot of questions. It was very by the numbers and I got the impression I was being interviewed as a formality. I wasn't given the chance to even ask questions at the end. There was essentially nothing to be gleaned from this interview from the company's perspective. After this, I didn't hear anything back. I eventually reached out to my interviewer via email to request feedback but was ignored. I found this to be a lack of courtesy. Really disappointing all around from what I understood to be a reputable company
