I applied for this role in late December when it was listed as a full-time position, though it was later changed to a 12-month FTC. The 6-week process consisted of four rounds: a TA screen, a technical deep-dive with the Hiring Manager (focusing on automation architecture), a cross-functional interview and a strategic final round with a Director. The interviewers themselves were fantastic, they asked highly varied questions, ranging from technical case studies to big-picture behavioral questions. They genuinely challenged me to think outside the box. However, the post-interview experience was terrible. After my final round, I was ghosted for two weeks until I chased the TA, who gave a vague excuse about "changing the job description" and promised an update in a week. It has now been over a month and I have received absolutely no final decision or feedback. While the team is brilliant, the recruiting operations and communication are incredibly disappointing. DeepMind was always my dream company to work for, but unfortunately, this experience has negatively impacted how I view the organization as a whole.
