I applied online and was contacted a few days later to schedule a phone screen. In the application, you are required to put a desired salary, which I did. At the end of my phone screen, the interviewer tells me the pay range is nowhere close to what I put down. Such a waste of both our time. If you're going to force someone to answer that question in the application, you should actually use that information. The woman I interviewed with was nice enough, but she was filling in for someone else so couldn't answer the vast majority of my questions.
