I interviewed with four people via Google Meet. There were two interviews and both were less than professional. The laboratory manager continuously stated that she and the assistant laboratory director are "young" and fairly new to the field requesting patience with their lack of experience. There were no questions presented that would gauge one's skills and abilities. The main question was, "Tell me about yourself...education and experience". I found that if I were to be hired, I would be working as a subordinate to people far less experienced than I and for less pay. The demeanor and statements presented during the interviews offered a glance into that which would be experienced had I been employed there. The interviews and application process were a waste of my time. The foregoing was underscored by the pay offered, $25-$27/hr., which is far lower than the national average. The recruiter stated that lab professionals with 20 to 30 years experience were being paid at the $31/hr mark which is low even for a person with 5 years experience.
