The interview process consisted of a call with the recruiter, the hiring manager, the ceo, and then HR. This would have been fine except they changed the job description/what they were looking for after all these rounds of interviews. Don't have people invest their time if you haven't decided on what you're looking for.
The process began with a 30-minute phone call with HR to review my background and assess my general fit for the role. After that, I received a home assignment focused only on Python. Then I had a short Zoom interview with the team lead, followed by an on-site interview at the company’s offices with two team members. That last interview was mostly focused on SQL questions and problem-solving. I didn’t move forward after that stage, but the next steps in the process include an interview with the manager and providing references. Overall, the process was well-structured and communication was clear throughout.

Question 1
The home assignment was to analyze crime data from New York.
They primarily wanted to assess the ability to clean and normalize data, as well as the approach to problem-solving in general.
I applied online. The process took 4 weeks. I interviewed at Grip Security in Oct 2025
Interview
Unnecessary long. Took about a month, process was as follows: Initial Phone Screening, Technical Evaluation, Assignment Evaluation, and then Referrals, each being about a week apart. Initial screening was essentially meeting a HR person and discussing previous work experience and how it applies to the role, why the interest in the role, basic behavioral questions, and personality questions. Evaluation was on SQL queries and API integrations, and finally the assignment was to conduct research on Shadow SaaS and then present on it. Each step went, in my opinion, very well and received positive feedback after but eventually got a rejection with no explanation or feedback on my performance. Sent a follow-up asking for feedback but heard nothing back. Overall a negative experience, highlighted by a lengthy time wasting process.
