I had a similar experience to another candidate who shared their review here. Initially, the company mentioned there would be 4 rounds of interviews, but later added an extra system design round, making it a total of 5 rounds.
I progressed all the way to the cultural fit round. However, during this stage, the founder did not seem as engaged or interested as expected, especially after I had already cleared multiple rounds.
This made me wonder whether they are genuinely hiring or simply gathering inputs from candidates to address their existing challenges.
The HR team was responsive in the beginning, but after the final round, communication dropped. I had to follow up via email and calls, and eventually, I was informed that another candidate had been selected.
If my technical depth was not sufficient, it’s unclear why they proceeded with so many rounds, including the cultural fit round. Reaching that stage creates a sense of hope, and candidates invest significant time and energy into the process.
