      Manager Interview

      25 Apr 2016
      Anonymous employee
      New York, NY
      Accepted offer
      Positive experience
      Average interview

      Application

I applied online. The process took 5 days. I interviewed at Gyu-Kaku (New York, NY) in Jul 2015

      Interview

Very professional but not strict. It was comfortable than nerve wrecking. I was interviewed with both general manager and supervisor. They will warn you of hours required to work and they will be as honest as they can be. It is better to be honest yourself to make the process better.

      Interview

The interview process at Gyu-Kaku typically starts with an online application or in-person submission. Candidates are then invited for an initial phone screening to assess availability and motivation. Successful candidates proceed to in-person interviews, often involving the restaurant manager. These interviews focus on customer service skills, teamwork, and understanding of Japanese cuisine. Applicants might participate in situational role-playing to demonstrate problem-solving abilities. Cultural fit and a passion for hospitality are key. Depending on the role, there might be additional rounds for skill assessments. The process concludes with reference checks and a job offer for successful candidates.

      Manager Interview

      1 Dec 2017
      Anonymous employee
      Atlanta, GA
      Accepted offer
      Negative experience
      Easy interview

      Application

I applied online. The process took 1 day. I interviewed at Gyu-Kaku (Atlanta, GA) in Sept 2017

      Interview

Gyu-Kaku started out as a great opportunity. I interviewed in Atlanta only once with Sandy. The interview went well and within a week I was offered a position as manager. It was strange because I had only been on one interview and within a week I had received my offer letter. Gyu-Kaku is opening a new restaurant in the Atlanta area, and currently there is no other store nearby. So part of the deal was that I had to get my affairs in order with one week’s notice and complete my 2-month training in Boston. So that I did. I arranged for my son to be taken care of and I left for Boston. The trip started off pretty bad and that should have been my first clue as to how the rest of this horrid experience would be. I was told via Email to find a way to my Airbnb. At this time my travel was not covered. The Uber to the Airbnb was 55$. At this time, I had not been payed and could not afford this type of trip. Luckily I have a wonderful cousin who is an Engineer at Gillet. She was able to leave work early and pick me up from the airport.
