I applied through an employee referral. The process took 1 day. I interviewed at H2O.ai (Mountain View, CA) in Aug 2018
Interview
It was professionally scheduled by HR with 1 hour each with the VP of engineering, CTO, Chief Scientist. Since the CEO was in town that day, he interviewed me impromptu. That tells you a lot of about this startup. They really care who they hire and very diligent about it!
Interview questions [3]
Question 1
How would deal with the class imbalance in data? What kind of algorithms or techniques would you use?
I applied through a recruiter. The process took 3 weeks. I interviewed at H2O.ai in Feb 2019
Interview
1) phone screen with recruiter
2) call with VP of sales
3) face to face meeting with account manager
4) technical exercise
5) Zoom meeting with data scientist <- died here
I was anihilated by the data scientist, who was clearly a lot smarter than me.
I was very up-front about my background, strengths, and weaknesses from the outset. I had no problems with the exercises.
I wish the conversation with the data scientist could have happened before I spent the weekend doing H2O exercises. This process wasted a lot of time: both H2O's and mine.
